Divisions
Cobblestone teachers recognize that
all children develop at different rates and have
different learning styles, a particularly important
point in working with new readers and writers. Teachers
support the learning process by creating a balanced
learning environment that encourages critical thinking
and fosters motivation, anchoring learning in a
meaningful context.
Children
in the Primary Group (ages 4½-6, grades K and 1) at
Cobblestone spend much of their time exploring the
natural world around them.
Children in the Upper Primary Group (ages
6-8, grade 2) learn to embrace reading and writing as a
means of expression.
At the Intermediate Level (ages 8-10,
grades 3 and 4), students continue to build on and
acquire new skills in research.
The Lower Middle Grades (ages 10-12,
grades 5 and 6) and Upper Middle Grades (ages 12-14,
grades 7 and 8) students study more challenging
language arts, science, and math curricula as they
become critical thinkers and prepare to graduate from
Cobblestone.
