Divisions
At Cobblestone we recognize that all
children develop at different rates and have different
learning styles. This is particularly important when
working with new readers and writers. Teachers support
the learning process by creating a balanced learning
environment that encourages critical thinking and
fosters motivation, anchoring learning in a meaningful
context.
Children
in the Primary Group (ages 4½-6, grades K and 1) at
Cobblestone spend much of their time exploring the
natural world around them.
Children in the Upper Primary Group (ages
6-8, grade 2) learn to embrace reading and writing as a
means of expression.
At the Intermediate Level (ages 8-10,
grades 3 and 4), students continue to build on and
acquire new skills in research.
The Lower Middle Grades (ages 10-12,
grades 5 and 6) and Upper Middle Grades (ages 12-14,
grades 7 and 8) students study more challenging
language arts, science, and math curricula as they
become critical thinkers and prepare to graduate from
Cobblestone.
